Migration process

Make sure that the Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant (CCMA) is updated to its latest version before proceeding with the migration process.
Use the Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant app to migrate everything you need from Confluence server to cloud. Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant explains in detail the step-by-step process to migrate the required content.
Select the spaces and the users that you want to migrate
With every migrated space the related Ideation will be migrated along with all its related data (terms, letters, metadata, etc)
Each migration has 2 major steps

1 - Migrate Confluence data (Spaces, pages, users)

2 - Migrate Ideation data (votes, workflow...)

That's it! A new Ideation space will be migrated.

Differences between server/DC and cloud

The differences revolve mainly around UX & UI and administrative actions. Some macros are displayed differently across three versions. Although the look and feel of the app is a bit different, the main actions (idea creation, challenges, etc…) remain the same.

Metadata			Metadata micro is read-only in the cloud version. This feature is currently under development for cloud. Custom fields for ideation are not yet implemented in the cloud version.

Ideation summary			The “Add idea” button is not in the cloud. After the migration, this macro can be changed for the cloud ideation summary macro.

Status list			The Archive status is not a separate feature in the cloud version, thus the archive status is integrated in the ideation workflow during the migration.

Additional features on Server and DC

In this section, we will list all the features available only on server and DC. Since these features are yet to be available on cloud, they would not be included in the migration.

Vote badge		vote badge feature is not available in the cloud version, therefore it is not included in the migration
Statistics		The statistics feature is not available in the cloud version, therefore it is not included in the migration. This feature does not store data in the server/DC, any future implementation in the cloud version will not be affected by the migrated data.
JIRA integration		The Jira integration feature is not available in the cloud version, therefore it is not included in the migration.
