Reports

Spectrum TimeReports provides powerful reporting options to help you analyze your JIRA users' work.

Our tool gives the possibility to:

  • Create detailed reports with multiple search criteria or one of your favorite filters
  • View every work log related to the users and additional information about the projects and the issues 
  • Export your reports for later use.



  • Create Report


Table Report provides a solution that will let you view the worklogs in a structured and summarized form. 

In order to create a new report,  go to TimeReports > New Report and configure your search criteria.

When creating a report, you can combine the following criteria:

Scope

The scope gives the ability to:

  • Easily build your report based on provided choices to select data source to build report on. Here 4 options are available:
    • JIRA Projects (1)
    • Project Categories  (2)
    • Current user favorite filters (3)
    • JIRA Users (4)
  • Once report generated, data will be grouped based on scope to make reading the report easier.
The scope provides a kind of report type and must be coherent with Templates (explained in sections above)
Projects (1)

Once selected in scope choices, a project picker will be displayed in the section above to choose the project to get data from.

You can select one project, multiple projects or "All". Default is "All".

Start typing project key or name to get a result list from JIRA.

All projects JIRA appear in the list. Depending on your permissions, you see all projects or only projects where you currently have JIRA "browse project" permissions.
Category (2)

Once selected in scope choices, a category picker will be displayed in the section above to choose the category to get data from.

You can select one category, multiple categories or "All". Default is "All".

Start typing category key or name to get a result list from JIRA.

All catgories JIRA appear in the list.

Filter (3)

Once selected in scope choices, a filter picker will be displayed in the section above to choose the filter to get data from.

This picker gives you the ability to search for/select any of your favorite JIRA filters. Just start to type the filter name.

Only favorite filters are available, no other filters you have access to!

Users (4)

Once selected in scope choices, a user(s) picker (multi-select) will be displayed in the section above to choose the users to get data from.

This user picker (multi-select) gives you the ability to select the users to get worklogs for. The default is "All".

Start to type user name to get a result list from JIRA.

The picker lists all users that have at least one worklog on JIRA Issues.
Template

Select template to be used to generate the report. Template is a predefined organization of your report data saved in JIRA Administration.

Report templates automatically populate Table Row and Column Headers, with predefined values.

Templates can be modified, added or removed by a JIRA Administrator.

Date from/to

Enter date from/to - to get data for.

This applies to worklog dates to retrieve



(info) Limit date range is 2 years.

Default is one week (today - 7 days).

Time FormatTime format options

Select minutes/hours/days/weeks.

This will determine the format of the 'Time Spent' field when the issues are displayed in the report

Generate

Once you have filled all the required parameters, click the GENERATE button to execute the report.

Spectrum TimeReport will perform the required calculations and display the requested data.

SaveSave Report

The saved report keeps your filter, grouping, and view settings. 

Your saved reports are added to the Reports Overview page for quick access.

Refresh

Reload or update what is displayed in the different fields.

Depending on the specific template type selected, different chart type options may be available. See here for more information.


(info) All picker fields includes a search field with a suggestion list when typing first characters.


However, there is no instant update of the results, but you have to click "Generate" to apply your changes and generate the new report based on the new configuration.

As general behavior in this filter/search mask, if you don't select entries from a picker, this is considered as having "All" options selected.


  • Grand Total Logged


You can see the total amount of time for the query in the bottom right corner of the page.

This value is the sum of all logged times based on the results of the query as displayed in the screenshot below.


  • Save Reports


After creating and running a new report, click the Save button to save a copy of the currently-selected report options and be able to quickly access it.

To save a report

  1. Click the Save button to display the Save report dialog box.



  2. Give your report a new name, provide a description (to be displayed in the report directory),then click Save report.
  3. Click Save.



  • Export to Excel


You are able to export your report results when you are on table view. Export results on a Microsoft Excel file as displayed below:
